We have just started stocking Protect 1F Underfelt. This underfelt is a new roofing underlay which has been developed specifically to overcome the disadvantages of traditional type 1F felts and second generation plastic sheet materials.
Application: Protect A1 can be used for all pitched roof constructions (tiled and slated) whether the insulation is at ceiling joist level or rafter level. Its advantages are that it is completely waterproof, It can be used as a temporary covering for up to three months before the roof covering is laid. It has excellent nail tear strength and tensile strength. It is UV and heat stable. The absorbent under surface prevents condensate drip off.Embossed dark grey upper surface reduces glare and takes a chalk line marking. Does not generate noise under wind gusting. It is easy to cut, clean, light to handle and unaffected by temperature changes.
Tradditional Type 1F has these disadvantages, Lack of flexability at low temp, softening at high temp. Difficult to handle and cut.High resistance to water vapour,causing condensation risk.
